Savvas Karatzias
 
 

Savvas Karatzias was born in Rhodes in 1981. He started his studies in classical guitar with teacher Paraskevi Malamati at the A. Korelli Conservatory in 1995 and since June 2014 he has a diploma in classical guitar with "Excellent". From 1991 to 1996, he attended monody lessons at the A. Korelli Conservatory in the class of Nikolaos Petridis, participating in various musical events throughout Greece. In 2012, he completed his studies at the School of Advanced Theory in the Department of Harmony and Counterpoint at the A Conservatory. Corelli obtaining his degrees with the grade of "Excellent Honorable Mention". At the same time, he continues his studies in the academic subjects: Orchestration and Composition with the teacher of one of the most important Greek composers, Mr. Nikos Charizano. He appeared in the discography as a composer in 2015, on the record "Echomonologues".
He has participated as a guitar soloist with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra at the Athens Concert Hall in 2011 and in various musical concerts and concerts from 1996 until today. As a composer, he has collaborated with the Golden Olympic Choir Rosarte, the Symphony Orchestra of St. Petroupoli, the La Marquise Philharmonic Orchestra, the Youth Opera Ensemble, the Ars Nova Ensemble, the artistic director of the ERT musical ensembles Anastasios Symeonidis, Rozi Mastrosavva, Anton Kholodenko, Olga Kim, Panagiotis Gogos, Anastasios Stella, Danai Kiupuroglou, Dimitris Kamarianides et al.

He has also taken part in the 2012 World Guitar Competition in Novi Sad, Serbia, with the work Four errant icons, making it to the finals of the competition. In 2016 he composed the musical theater work entitled "The circle of 10", which was presented at the Michalis Kakogiannis Foundation and has collaborated with very important directors, actors and choreographers. In 2017, he composed the Oratorio "Theophanes the Greek", founder of Russian iconography, a work under the auspices of the parliament of the Greeks, which was presented in Rhodes, in the Holy Church of the Annunciation. Finally, he is the director and professor of advanced theory and classical guitar at the A. Corelli Conservatory of Rhodes from 2008 until today. Modest, creative, cultured, immovable and humble, Savvas Karatzias, illuminates and is illuminated by respect and love for his Art by internationally representing  Greece in concerts, which demonstrate that a Greek can become a lighthouse and a sea of Culture.
