Natalia Hatz
 
 

Natalia Hatz (Natalia Hatzopoulou) was born on August 3, 2000 in Athens. She is an emerging composer, pianist and cellist. She started composing in 2010 and since then has been awarded in composition and film music competitions. In 2015 she won the 1st Composition Prize in the Panhellenic Competition of H.O.N. (Youth Choir & Orchestra) for the piano piece "Silence" as well as the 3rd Composition Prize for "Transition", a piece for cello and piano.

She studies classical music at the Erateio Conservatory, from where she received his Degree in Harmony with Honors. She continues her studies in cello with Christoforos Miroshnikov, piano with Efi Terzakis and theory with Andriana Kandyla. She participates in various youth ensembles, including the Underground Youth Orchestra. In 2018 she graduated with honors from the Experimental Music High School of Pallini. In the same year, she started studying Musicology at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she is now a fourth-year student.
Her interest in composition led her to film music as she began entering music competitions for short films.

In 2017, she was awarded 1st Runner Up in the Marvin Hamlisch Film Scoring Contest, USA (Youth Category). In 2019 as well as 2020 she was among the top 10 finalists in the Oticons Faculty International Film Music Contest. Her first music release, Chrysalis (Piano Works), was released in 2020 and features her award-winning piano compositions.

Her symphonic tripartite work "Three Dragons" was performed the same year by the Underground Youth Orchestra at the Benaki Museum. In the summer of 2021, she participated in the Screen Composer Academy Summer Program, an intensive course focused on composition for Media. During this time she continues her studies at the conservatory and university as well as composes music for independent short and feature films.
