Maria Papapetropoulou
 
 

Μaria Papapetropoulou was born in Athens. She studied piano guided by Popi and Natalia Michailidou at the “Athenaeum”conservatory as well as at the Skalkotas conservatory. She obtained her certificate with the jury’s unanimous first honors and a first prize. She continued her studies under the tutelage of Francoise Tina at the EcoleNormale in Paris and at the Orleans National Conservatory, from where she graduated along with a first prize. With the help of a scholarship awarded to her by The Onassis Foundation, she continued her studies at the Karlsruhe University, with Ulrich Rademacher, where she was specialized in lieder accompaniment and obtained a Master of Arts diploma with an “Excellent”. She participated in a series of seminars and classes on piano perfection, chamber music and lieder accompaniment, conducted by Lev Vlassenko, Gitti Pirner, Eduardo Hubert and Bruno Canino. She has given individual (The Athens Concert Hall, 1994) and chamber music recitals in Greece, France, Germany, Italy and Turkey. She has collaborated many times with the Athens State Orchestra, the Orchestra of Colours, the Ryazan Philharmonic in Russia and the Munster Youth Orchestra in Germany, where she recorded on CD Mozart’s concerto for piano KV467. She has recorded music for the Greek Radio, in collaboration with the Contemporary Music Band of Th. Antoniou and has appeared on Greek Radio and television. She teaches piano, accompaniment and chamber music at the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata
