Maria - Lida Karapanou
 
 

Pianist Maria-Lida Karapanou has an international presence with concerts in Greece, England, Scotland and the USA. She attended courses at the Athenian Conservatoire, King's College London, and also studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Yonty Solomon and Fali Pavri. She has attended seminars with Boris Berman, Steven Osborne and many other distinguished musicians. She also holds a degree in Harmony and Byzantine music. She has won many prizes, among them the 1st prize in the Gina Bachauer Foundation piano competition.
She is an active member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians in Great Britain, the National Music Teachers Association and other similar organizations. She collaborates periodically with Grammy Award-winning conductor and violinist John McLaughlin Williams. She recently recorded Chopin works for her first record with Subways Music. She resides in Southeast Michigan, where she teaches piano and performs as a pianist.
